Dr. Danielle Ries is a native of Algona, Iowa. As an undergraduate she attended University of Iowa and earned a degree in Integrative Physiology. She pursued her dream of becoming an optometrist by obtaining her Doctorate of Optometry degree from Indiana University in 2010. Upon graduation Dr. Ries filled in around the Spencer area before learning about an opening for an optometrist in Spirit Lake. After three years of practicing there and getting to know the community, she is excited to welcome you to her very own practice in Milford! Please stop in for some coffee, hot chocolate, or just to say hi. Dr. Ries is passionate about all her patients’ needs and strives to help them obtain their best eye health and vision through tailoring the exam to each individual.

Dr. Ries is a member of the American Optometric Association, Iowa Optometric Association, and Gold Key Honor Society. In addition, she is a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Spencer.

Outside of her practice Dr. Ries enjoys spending time with her husband, Dan, and three daughters, Madison, Ava, and Allison. She also enjoys biking, reading, and the Hawkeyes.

Ashley is our Optometric Technician at Ries Eyecare. She is originally from Sioux Falls, South Dakota and has over 13 years experience in the optical and management field. She is excited by the ever advancing technology the eyecare field has to offer.

When Ashley isn’t working you can find her hunting for treasures at local antique shops, collecting sunglasses, taking care of her many house plants and animals and enjoying the great outdoors. She currently resides in Spirit Lake with her boyfriend. She currently has her CPO certification.
